This train was going uphill.. To the right of the pic. First time that I've seen 4 units in front, and another 4 in _back_. This shot was taken a couple miles east of the exit of the Cascade Tunnel.

So many dash-9s of BNSF I think is the only other railroad with as many dash-9s as Norfolk Southern

It really was pretty damn awesome.. I took this back in April, so I'm not totally sure how many units were helping, but it seems to me that all 4 in front would be, and at least the lead two of the last four (this shot) are helping. You can see the distortion in the focus above the two in the main focus of the picture, but I really don't know about the last two.

Well, even still, if only two are rolling dead, that's a lot of horsepower pushing and pulling that thing along. 6 Dash 9's pushing a large manifest over some mountains is something to be seen any day.

Well, certainly not something that happens this side of the pond often! we dont often see more than 2 locos on some of the larger Intermodal works where i live in the midlands. Nice capture :)
